Description | The author gives a short account of the 'sphere', and includes tables and rules for observation of the sun and the pole-star. His journey takes him from Gibraltar to India via the Mediterranean, then round the south of Africa and on to India through the red sea and on to India. After describing Hindu customs, he continues to describe various other places beginning in the Canaries to South America, then to Central America and then the 'new founde lande', or North America. The author then urges that this quarter of the globe should be exploited for English enterprise. |
