Description Thirty letters, chiefly written to Boss's home in the East, describing economic and living conditions in mining boom towns, including Reno, Shermantown, and Bullionville, Nevada. Includes a brief account of his journey to California from New York on the steamships San Francisco and America. With these are letters by Boss's wife, Laura, and two by their daughter, Winnie, chiefly about family and personal life. The letters also include some description of Sacramento, California, and Eureka, Nevada.
